SPM Questions: "Give & take"

Hi guys..hows yr xm?..
Thumbs up for those who did well in recent xm, and for those who didn’t perform, don’t be sad. Keep working hard. If u 've failed ask your self..did u make a proper revision?? If not, u better work harder, smarter & seriously plan yr remaining time wisely.. Not perform at this moment doesn’t mean that you will not success forever…

Some of u might be wondering why i choose the title in this post as:
SPM Questions: "Give & take"

The reason is..there's one student who wants to remain anonymous, had shared a few question papers with me.. i said to him thanx a lot coz u r the 1st stdnt who did this to me.
He simply replied, sir in this life we must 'Give & take'

Hmm his answer really made my day..at least he has some common sense that as a human being, we need to share & help each others. If u give or share something for the benefits of others, u'll sure get a reward latter. Its just the matter of time, maybe today..tomorrow, next month..or next year or definitely u'll get it in hereafter.
To this student, whoever u are, i wish u'll get a good results 4 your SPM as good as your kind attitude.
U guys can download these files by clicking these link below. Its an exam paper for form4 topics.

Form 4 Sample Paper 1
Form4 Sample Paper 2

i really appreciate if u too can share any collection of physics tips or school exam papers of yours..
For students or teachers who wants to contribute their collection of xm papers or SPM physics tips ..u can do so by emailing the files at
- fizbro @ gmail.com

Lets have this 'Give & Take' attitude for the benefits of all SPM Physics candidates.
Till now, bye.

Triumph in Rome

..the joy & satisfaction as.. CHAMPION & THE BEST IN EUROPE

.. beaten by a better team...

“We’ve done well. It has been a long season - that was our 66th game - and you’ve got to give the players great credit for the courage and resilience they’ve shown throughout. "Now we have to come back stronger. That’s what we do at this club. We have to accept it, we’ve been beaten by the better team. Next season, we’ll be stronger.” -Sir Alex Ferguson-

Yeah he's right...same thing with u guys..if u've given all u can before your exam & yet u were inches closer to get your desired result, dont give up. U should come back after this school break with stronger & resilience attitude and...AIM FOR THE BEST

..i think c.ronaldo should take my physics lesson, he'll be better player next season :)

Clash of the TITAN

Who do u think will win tonite?
I know!!..MAn Untd lah :)
Hopefully Ronaldo will apply bernoulli effect to get more spin on his free kick..
so the ball will bent weirdly due to continuous difference in pressure.
Who said u dont learn physics by watchin futball :)

SPM tips: "An essay a day keeps lower grades away"

Hi guys..

Sorry for keeping some of u waiting for my new post especially in this xm week.My internet connection had problems but it has already fixed by someone. Anyway if u've made an early preparation u wont be panicking like this. The common problem with all of u is having a last minute study .If u dare to repeat this habit again then be prepared of ....
the worst SPM tsunami's effect :)

It seems that xm week is almost finished which mean u r only a few days b4 your school holiday..then lepas tu boleh ENJOY :)!Or may b some of u have already relaxed coz xm dah habis. Nevermind, tis weeken u can go & take some rest..but not too long kay ;)

As for today i'm in a good mood & wanna share with u some simple tips..
Recently i came aross a quote saying "An apple a day keeps the doctor away"
Suddenly i found it applicable to my tips sharing series..after a few minutes brainstorming i decided to name this PHysics' tips as:
"An essay a day keeps your lower grades away"

YES..
u must at least do one physics esssay type of questions from any physics topic everyday.May be u can do some proper planning, start with form4 topics first. Go find an exercise books if u dont have one right now. While i'm writing this, the countdown display counted that u have a remaining 175 days, 23 hous, 05 min, 48 sec.
Just imagine if everyday u are doing 1 essay question, that means u've practised at least 170 questions of section B & C before SPM exam. If u stuck dont take too long..take a reference book & find the answer. Then look at the provided answer scheme..do comparison with your own. After that do correction, rewrite them & read it .Finally & most impotantly ..try to understand & memorize them if necessary. For my form 4 student, if u r reading this article & apply it straight away..i'm sure u 'll be better equipped in next SPM than this year candidadate ;)

The same method also can be applied if u r weak in paper 3 , then do at least 1 question from paper 3 everyday. If u consistently doing this, i'm sure u are ready to move towards another bigger step..which is to go all out in the real battle & shoot for an 'A'.
As people said, thousands steps start from a humble single step..
So what r u waiting for..here i am giving u another sets of question. Download them & do it today even though u've finished your "SPM junior" exam ;) .

SPM Physics' Revision Tips

Assalamu'alaikum & Hi to everyone..

Since my blog published on NST Tech & U section last Monday..i received lots of questions, request & emails.
Lately i'm quite bz with tuition class due to xm fever..as usual my student did a last minute preparation..so byk soalan nak kena explain.
That's y i cant stay online during early of the nite.,Sorry if i cant entrtain some of yr questions. Usually i'll be online 10-1030pm until midnite or in the morning.

As for today i wanna discuss common mistake on students study method. In this post My language will be sound a bit different coz..theres a special request 4 me to xplain in BM.
(Warning :Pls forgive me if the language in this post doesnt suit u )

Ok..Lets go straight to the discussion..usually while doing revision, most of the students have been focusing too much on physics calculation rather than understanding the whole concept.

Same case with my student..masa nilah nak tanya how to apply tis formula..this & that..Sir how to calculate this?..How they derive this formula lah? & bla..bla..bla..
Ok let me put it this way..physcis not only about calculation..I know its important to understand the formula but u must know the whole concept. Physics concept is produced through scientific investigation which involves the following stage:

i. Observation
-in SPM they always ask u to compare the observation between 2 diagram & etc. Practise a lot on this type of question. Tak percaya???? Pi beli buku Cerdik publication..& buat analisis sendiri Lepas tu telephone Cerdik manager, suruh dia bagi i commision sikit :)

ii. Experiment
what else can i say abt this..hey u shud go through each xperiment which a formula being derived from it. For example V=IR is arrived frm an electric xperiment.. so study this xperiment, understand the observation, discussion, & conclusion. Dont ask me V=IR is in which xperiment ..othrwise i pinjam tagline Nabil raja lawak which sound like this..
"LU carik sendiri lah beb" ..sorry bkn marah, gurau je :)

iii.Theory

for this one,,usuall theory arrived after an xperiment is concluded. That's why u have Ohm's law, Pressure Law,Charles'law ,Principle of Conservation of energy & byk lah lagi..bukak buku, cari semua xperiment & try relate the experiment with relevant physics theory.. Lagi satu kat sini lah jugak u kena tau pasal all the DEFINITION so pandai2 cari relevant physics theory lepas tu go & revise k..takkan saya nak list kan semua?

iv.further investigation/modification
Ha this one a bit critical..kat sini lah selalunya soalan suruh u modify something..especially in essay type of question. Again go through 'Mr Cerdik' carik soalan2 mcm ni. Selalunya soalan jenis ni lah student selalu kantoi. Kenapa yek?? Jawabnya sebab u all suka sgt main calculator :) To improve on this part, please baca bahagian physics application, i'll xplain this later. Soalan cam ni kalau u 'flop',mmg sayang 'giler',kenapa..sbb 1 soalan essay ada 20 markah. U kena jawab 2 soalan, kalau both essay u 'flop' u dah hilang almost 40 marks..wow! Byk tu! Tapi apa nak buat, most of u are so generous.. suka bagi sedekah ;) Thus please choose the right question when u do section B & C.

v. Application
Ha ni lagi satu killer question..dlm SPM byk ditanya dekat section B & C in paper 2. Or in other words, some tough application question will always come out in essay. Hows the question loooks like? Ok nak tau jawapan dia .. pergi 'kotorkan' buku CERDIk dan buku latihan u all yg masih cantik, suci, bersih lagi terpelihara itu.. :) .. to tackle this application part..u must read all the application section of each chapter. For example in LENS..u must read abt the microscope, telescope..dan skop2 yg lain. Tapi INGAT! Jgn setakat baca,..FAHAMKAN dulu..fahammmm???Kalau tak faham jangan buat-buat faham, tanya lah cikgu, tutor, kawan ke.. Lepas tu baru memorize..F A A H A A M?? One more thing,In yr txtbook or reference book, dont take 4 granted the diagram, activities, cartoon tips, visual explainations & etc. Kalau tak percaya bukak buku teks F5, pasal wave diffraction..kat tepi sebelah kanan ada citer semut & pijat. Ha jgn ingat tu tak penting..Kat situ ada hidden message yg boleh kita apply dlm soalan yg mcmbunyi dia mcm ni: Where & how to build a retaining wall on the ocean in order to build a safer beach resort?

As a conclusion of what i've been 'membebel' in this post are:
  • Jangan asyik nak main ' calculator' ..rasa nak tegelak tgk some student picit calculator dua2 tangan mcm nak main game playstation la pulak. Tapi mana i boleh gelak, kang dia report mak dia, silap2 masuk lagi blog ni dlm newspaper hhuhu :)
  • Siapa yg belum ada buku SPM pass year collection by CERDIK publication, go & grab one. Pastu jangan lupa call dia punya General Manager, suruh bagi commission sikit kat physics4spm.com punya owner :)
  • last but not least..Please correct your study method b4 its too late. I really want u guys to get an excellent result 4 your physics. Lets work smart & pray hard ..
To prove what i've been saying is not just 'merapuing' ..try this essay question below.
Can u find any calculation involved???

Again b4 i end this post, please forgive me if my language used gonna irritate some of u. I'm doing this just to xpress the message in a casual way.
Till we meet in the next post, bye. (dont forget to click the question below)

SPM Tips: Physics Paper 2

Paper 2 tips:

Usually in paper 2, especially in essay section B/C, the question will provide u with a table of comparison. For eample, if the question ask u to choose a material from a table to build an electric kettle..then u r asked to choose the most suitable characteristic.

for example,

My suggestion is.. rather than writing a common lengthy essay type of answer.. its easier if u answer it by making a table of comparison like this:

Suitable Characteristic

Reason

High Boiling Point (1 mark)

Not easily melt (1 mark)

High Resistivity (1 mark)

It can produce more heat ( 1 mark)

Then u choose which one is the most suitable & repeat its suitable characteristic;
e.g:
kettle W is most suitable coz it has high boiling point & high resistivity.

If u answer in table form, u r more focused & will go straight to the point.
Otherwise if u choose to write like typical english essay.. there's a tendency that u might 'goreng merapu-rapu'. In the end lots of non relevant facts will b included.

I know your mid term is just aroun the corner right... so here i include some revision list of form 4 summarized terms.

SPM Physics Paper 3

For those asking for notes on Paper 3's experiment, u can always get it from your reference book. Many reference book included the experiment details for each subtopic. Usually reference book like Oxford Fajar, Pelangi & Sasbadi has detailed the experiment involve for all topics. Even some of them are also included in the notes uploaded in this blog.
All u need to do is.. dont be too lazy to search for it :) .
Moreover, what ever u did in PEKA is important, u should refer back to those experiment.
By the way, here i include some examples list of experiment precaution that can be useful for your reference.

Download this file.

The table listed only general precaution, its your task to match the precaution with any relevant experiment.
One more thing..just to remind u guys...please dont answer your precaution simply like this:
-To avoid parallax error

It is incomplete, u need to specify how to make those correct reading..refer to the table..u should answer like this:
Avoid parallax error by placing the eye such that the line of view is perpendicular to the scale of the ruler.

I know the list in the table doesn't cover all chapters..
hey i aint the type who like to spoon feed everything ..
If u wanna an A for physics..do some xtra work kay or come to my tuition class ;)

SPM tips: Physics Paper 3

In paper 3, u r given with1h 30 minutes. There are 2 section A & B.

In Section A:

1. consists of two structured questions and must answer both of the questions.

2. The total marks for this section is 28 marks. You are advised to spend 60 minutes on this section.

3. The questions in this section are based on experiments that you should have done in the lab.

4. The questions in this section normally require you to collect and tabulate the data in a table and to plot a graph.

5. You are normally required to state the manipulated variable, the responding variable and the fixed variable based on the aim and the procedure of the experiment. Make sure you know the meaning of each of the variables stated above.

6. The questions from this section also involve the interpretation of graphs. As such you will need to carefully determine the quantity represented by the gradient of the graph provided. You will also need to know how to determine the gradient of the graph.U must know the physical qty represented by the gradient.

7. The questions from this section may also involve the calculation of certain quantities. Make sure that you write down all the steps involved in the spaces provided in the question paper.

8. Dont forget to state units & please improve your maths skills on straight line & curved graph.

9. U must also know how to relate the graph, either a directly or inversely proportional type.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In Section B:

1. Section B consists of two questions and you must answer one question only.

2. The total marks for this section is 12 marks. You are advised to spend 30 minutes on this section.

3. U are normally given with a diagram of a situation in our daily lives together with a brief write-up on the situation shown.

4. You will have to study the situation carefully as you are normally asked to state one suitable inference/hypothesis that can made from the situation. Then u'll be asked to design a suitable experiment

5. Make sure you provide a fully labeled diagram of the apparatus used. Write out procedure experiment in passive form and use short sentences.

6. So dont simply copy sentences from refrence book that may require up to 10 step. Only 3 marks are given for the procedure..so usually we need only 3-4 steps.

SPM 'Skor A' Tips

I'm so happy when i woke up yesterday..1st thing i did was browsing eurosports website..
quess what..Manutd outplayed Arsenal with 4-1 aggregate :)
I know some of u hated MAnU, but what to do.. they r still the best coz they have a quality called 'WINNING ATTITUDE'

To those premier league fanatics..over the past 10 years, if u notice..only 4 common teams dominated the top place. They are Manutd, Chelsea, Arsenal & Liverpool and obviously the supremo among them is MAnchester United. They've won champions league last year..& now they r in final again. Sometimes my friends complained..y team like manchester city,SPurs with players like Robinho & others couldnt compete with these teams..Hmm the answer is simple..coz they are not hungry enough to be a WINNER.

Ok..how this story can be related to your SPM ? Its simple..in order to get straight 'A's..u also need to have this WINNING ATTITUDE. A desire to be the BEST among the BEST..creme De la creme.

However..is it enough by saying & dreaming i want to be the BEST?
Of course not..all these needs a sacrifice..proper planning, continuous practise, excellent time management, smart study and other approach. I'm sure u've heard your teacher telling u all those learning methods before.

The 1st important question u shud ask yourself by now -
Are u 'hungry' enough to get 'A's?
If u r not sure.. may b u still in doubt whether u deserve an A or not..

To clear those doubts..u must find reasons which can really drive u towards getting an A
It can be anything..may be for your personal satisfaction/or may b bcoz u r aiming for top world universities and etc. Once u've found it..then start to work on it..strategise,practise and finally pray for it
In general i think, everybody should aim for 'A's.. Why?
..coz we need to let our loved ones feel happy & proud of us. Especially our parents..They 've sacrificed too much for us. This is one of the reason Nur Madiha, a fisherman's daughter managed to get 20 A's in last SPM.
Let your mom & dad cry bcoz they are too happy while receiving your results..& dont let them cry due to your poor results.

Time is ticking faster, u shouldnt wasting much time playing games or socializing too much in facebook, myspace ,friendster or the worst of all pornography. I'm not ashamed to remind u this, coz theres student seeking me advice to overcome this habit. For those addicted to porno,my advice is just stop it! Trust me.. the more u watch them.. your brain processor will be downgraded to ZERO! U'll forget what u've learned...just say ENOUGH!
..its time for u to seriously think about your SPM.
..please kick your own butt b4 its too late..
lets have this WINNING ATTITUDE! Be the BEST!

I wish u all the best & gud luck :)

How DC Motor works?

Another important learning outcome under subtopic 3.2 is to describe:
How a direct current motor works??..this such question can come out in SPM essay paper2

- to describe this, 1st u need to know how the diagram of dc motor looks like.
- then u need to label it, such as which one is the commutator, carbon brush and other component.

DC Motor

Description:
  • A direct current (DC) motor which consists of a coil of many turns uses the magnetic turning effect.

  • The current flows into the coil through a pair of carbon brushes. The carbon brushes push against commutator.

  • then, the commutator changes contact from one brush to another while the coil is turning. This is to keep the coil rotating continuously.

The next thing u need to know is the factors that affect the speed of rotation. The speed of rotation can be increased by:
  • increasing Amount of Current
  • increasing the strength of magnetic field
  • increasing No. of coils

For better understanding, u should recall back my discussion on magnetic turning effect.

basically, if u understand the whole concept, u can build your own electric motors..watch these videos..give it a try..its FUN :)
